This victory booked a special place in the hearts of millions of Cricket lovers, for a very young team without its greats, lead by a new captain outclassed teams with far better names.
While Saurav Ganguly as the captain of Indian Cricket Team turned them into fighters from strugglers, it was only Mahendra Singh Dhoni who turned them into Champions from fighters as their captain, and it was this World Cup through which he amplified his silent arrival. Needless to say India carries the same soul of Champions even today. This World Cup gave us unforgettable moments, future heroes and probably the best captain Indian team ever had. As a fan, I remember India getting crowned as World Champions for the first time (even though in T20s), and celebrating the unmatched joy with roommates. :)"
